Bradwell farm Halloween weekend

Bradwell farm is a 17th century farmhouse which dates back to when Bradwell Manor was held by the Fuller and Owen families, ownership later passed to Siemens William Gunter Nicholl, a knight of bath.

The village of Bradwell was recorded in the doomsday book of 1086 and was called ‘Bradewelle’. The medieval castle motte and mound was thought to have been built around 1066 AD and was destroyed around 1539 AD, little else is known about the castle and its history, except it was most likely owned by a baronial family of Bayeux at the time of the Anarchy of Stephens reign. 

Nearby Bradwell Abbey Mansion was built upon the remains of the Benedictine monastery of St Mary. The monastery was founded in around 1155 and dissolved by 1540.
